Donner Square

I was honored to be asked by Kay Weston to come look around Donner Square earlier this month.  I have always had a love of winter builds and, coupled with the small town Christmas feel, this one did not disappoint.  I took a sleigh ride through the area and was just in awe at the true feeling of a wonderful visit to a cozy and peaceful place.

I asked Kay for some information on the sim and she sent me this :

“Donner Square is a 1/2 sim re-creation of a quiet little town and neighborhood celebrating Christmas. Jump on the sleigh and go for a tour of the area. Explore and find the poses set out around the town. Have a skate on one of the ponds, or have a snowball fight with friends. The area is a photographers paradise with beautiful scenery throughout. There are also 10 stores with Christmas themed items providing awesome Christmas gifts for those who feel like doing a little shopping while they wander through the area.

Donner Square will open on the 1st November and will be around until the 10th January 2018.”

I highly recommend paying this build a visit to kick off the Holiday season.  It opens Wednesday!!!

I hope you enjoy the pictures and, as always, the SLURL is located at the bottom of this post.

Fall at La Vie

Depending on where you live the change of seasons can showcase a truly stark contrast to each other.  The serene yet somewhat dead feel of Winter, the flowers and rebirth of Spring, the bustle of activity in Summer, followed by the crisp and colorful nature of Fall.  Each season has a special feel to it and everyone tends to have their favorite.  My personal preference is Summer and that is merely because I tend to shy away from snow and cold as I have gotten older but, were I to have to truly specify a favorite season and stand by it, I would have to choose Fall merely because of the colors that present themselves at that time of year.

Fall sims in Second Life are vibrant, with the yellows and oranges glowing in the sunlight.  The falling of the leaves and the implications of cooler nights and shorter days.  It is truly spectacular to see.

This is my second visit (well, recorded visit – I do visit sims just for myself and not to share with everyone) to La Vie and Arol and Krys have changed it over to Fall.  It is as beautiful as the last time I shot it.

They have also included some Halloween items in the build as well.  Be sure and check this out.  You can see the love and care that they have put into it and my pictures do not always convey that aspect as well as I would like.  I do hope you enjoy the pictures and take some of your own.  You will not regret it.

P.S. I did catch Krys and Arol in a couple of pics.  See if you can find them 🙂

Woodbury Falls – Miniature Reborn

The Halloween season is upon us and I have been stumbling around Second Life looking for some of the haunts that have been created for our exploring pleasure.  Located in the corner of the Peaceful River sim is a build called Woodbury Falls.  Spooky does not begin to adequately describe it.

Filled with its fair share of zombies (as if there could ever be a measure of a fair share of zombies), it is creepy to say the least.  They have crammed a lot of fright into about 1/6 of the sim and they have done it very well.

If you love Halloween and love the horror genre, this is a must see.  Be sure and check it out before the undead go into hiding for another year.

I hope you enjoy my pictures and, as always, the SLURL is located at the bottom of this post.

The Heights

Today’s travels took me to the urban setting of “The Heights.”  A very nice setting based upon the real life affluent residential neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights.

You will receive a notecard when you land and here is an excerpt:

🌇 Welcome to The Heights within the New York City borough of Brooklyn! The Heights was created based off the real life affluent residential neighborhood Brooklyn Heights!

🌇 Here at The Heights you will experience the role playing of city living, impressive scenery and skyline views along The Promenade! The community is complete with low-rise architecture and Brownstone Rowhouses for rent! City services included, but not limited too:
